Two trawlers to have Rapp all-electric deck packages

DECEMBER 9, 2016 — Bodø, Norway, headquartered Rapp Marine A/S has secured two new contracts for delivery of complete all-electric deck machinery packages to two trawler newbuilds: Clipperton, owned by Sweden based B-C Pelagic, and Lingbank, owned by Lingbank Fiskeri ApS based in Denmark, with all electric deck machinery packages.

Both vessels will be built at Karstensens Skibsværft in Skagen, Denmark. The shipyard is the leading builder of pelagic trawlers/ purse seiners in northern Europe.

“These two contracts represent a significant breakthrough both for us as a company as well as for our electric deck machinery systems for these types of fishing vessels,” said Morten Stenkjær, VP Sales, Rapp Marine Group. “The electric winch concepts are derived from Rapp Marine’s well proven hydraulic solutions and based upon the company’s extensive experience and know-how built up over decades, serving the international fishing fleet.”

“We are thankful for the confidence Karstensens have once again shown in us to supply the electric deck machinery for the two newbuildings,” Mr. Stenkjær added.

Part owner of the Lingbank is happy with the choice of Rapp Marine as supplier of the electric deck machinery for the new vessel,

Marcus Backman at B-C Pelagic is also pleased with the choice of electric drive from Rapp Marine for its newbuilding. Clipperton.

“For us, reliability, safety and working environment is important and electrical equipment will have a positive effect in terms of reducing fuel consumption,” he says. “With Rapp Marine electric winch solutions, we will be able to fish effectively and keep down the operating costs.”
