SEPTEMBER 20, 2017 — Damen Shipyards Group has signed a Letter of Intent with Russia’s Delo Group, whose DeloPorts subsidiary operates the Aleksino Port Marina Shipyard in the Port of Novorossiysk, on the north-eastern coast of the Black Sea.

Damen plans to establish a Service Hub in Novorossiysk in cooperation with Delo. The primary aim of the Service Hub will be to optimize the services provided to the growing number of Damen vessels operating in the region.

Currently more than 30 Damen-built vessels are operating in the region. Having the Service Hub will allow Damen to react very quickly to any service or maintenance issues, enabling Damen ship owners to increase the uptime of their vessels. Additionally, an ongoing service program can also lengthen the lifetime of a vessel while reducing the total cost of ownership.

The number of Damen vessels operating in the area is set to increase in the coming months, as Delo Services (also part of the Delo Group) is to take delivery of three Damen ASD 2310 tugs in November with a fourth set for delivery in 2018.

Damen also intends to assist Delo’s Aleksino Port Marina Shipyard. by adding value to its service and repair portfolio.
