MAY 27, 2014 — Gu Tiquan, the head of Shanghai’s Hudong-Zhonghua Shipyard has been arrested. He was handed over to judicial authorities by the Shanghai Communist discipline inspection commission which said he was suspected of “serious violations.”
The commission did not say what those violations were, but China has been on an anti-corruption drive for the past six months.
Hudong-Zhonghua is one China’s top shipyards. Part of the state-run China State Shipbuilding Co, it built the China’s first LNG carriers.
