Damen Shipyards Group has delivered CSOV 9020, TSS Cruiser, the first of two offshore wind Commissioning Service Operations Vessels ordered by Ta San Shang Marine Co. Ltd., a joint venture between Mitsui O.S.K. Lines Ltd. of Japan, and Taiwan’s Ta Tong Marine Co..that will use the vessel to support operations at Taiwanese offshore wind farms during construction and operational phases.
The vessel was built at the Halong Shipyard in Vietnam and its handover follows successful sea trials in Ha Long Bay.
The 90-meter TSS Cruiser offers accommodations for up to 120 offshore personnel, embarking and disembarking via a motion-compensated gangway. The hybrid diesel-electric vessel is prepared for conversion to methanol fueling in future.
Following the handover, TSS Cruiser departed Vietnam on May 6 for Taiwan, where it will begin its first project at the Hai Long Offshore Wind Farm, which will be equipped with Siemens Gamesa turbines. The second vessel is scheduled for delivery early next year.
