May 22, 2012 — BMT Nigel Gee Ltd. (BMT), a subsidiary of BMT Group Ltd., has signed an agreement to provide vessel designs to Estonia's BLRT Marketex, a subsidiary of BLRT Grupp AS. The relationship has already had success in the form of an outline agreement announced today for BLRT Marketex to construct four new 24 m highly flexible and high capacity Windfarm Support Vessels (WSV) for the operator, Sure Wind Marine.
Sure Wind Marine, based in the North East of England, provides safe reliable and flexible offshore vessels for the renewables industry throughout Europe with all of the group’s vessels being built to DNV class to enable unrestricted operation in European waters. The new vessels are currently in the design stage and construction is expected to start later this year.
BLRT Marketex is the leading industrial company in Estonia offering advanced complex solutions from steel, stainless steel and aluminium for Oil & Gas, Renewable Energy, Industrial and Marine markets. Currently, it is building four 20 m WSVs for Sure Wind. BLRT Marketex belongs to one of the leading industrial holdings on the Baltic Sea, BLRT Grupp, which operates five shipyards including two in Tallinn, Estonia.
BMT has a well-established range of WSVs with eleven vessels currently in build at six different shipyards.
