NASSCO-Norfolk gets $91.4 million Navy contract mod

JANUARY 8, 2019 — General Dynamics NASSCO-Norfolk, Norfolk, VA, has been awarded a $91,477,172 modification to a previously awarded Navy contract for the USS George H.W. Bush (CVN 77) fiscal 2019 drydocking planned incremental availability.

A drydocking planned incremental availability includes the planning and execution of depot-level maintenance, alterations, and modifications that will update and improve the ship’s military and technical capabilities.

Work will be performed in Portsmouth, VA, and is expected to be complete by February 2021. Fiscal 2019 operations and maintenance (Navy) funding in the amount of $45,738,586 will be obligated at time of award and $45,738,586 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year.
