Brodosplit delivers heavy lift ship to Jumbo

JUNE 16, 2015—Brodosplit Shipyard, Split, Croatia, recently delivered the heavy lift ship Fairmaster to Dutch shipowner Jumbo.

The 14,000 dwt ship is 152.6 meters long and 27.4 meters wide, with a draft of 8.1 meters and is equipped with two cranes, each with maximal lifting capacity of 1,500 tons, or jointly up to 3,000 tons, which is reportedly the largest cargo lifting capacity in this ship class in the world. The ship has a speed of 17 knots and propulsion power is supplied by two MaK 9M32C main engines that each generate 4,500 kW at 750 rev/min. It is fitted with a 1,500 kW Berg thruster.

Classed by Lloyd’s Register +100 A1 strengthened for heavy cargoes +LMC, UMS, CG, LI, IWS, Ice Class 1A Finnish Swedish, the Fairmaster is the second in a series of two ships built by Brodosplit Shipyard for Jumbo. Fairmaster’s sister ship is the Jumbo Kinetic, delivered in December 2014. Both vessels are K3000 Class ships.

Jumbo is a heavy lift shipping and offshore transportation and installation contractor.
