BAE Norfolk gets $55.7 million for Wasp work

DECEMBER 6, 2016 — BAE Systems Norfolk Ship Repair Inc., Norfolk, VA, is being awarded a $55,766,162 modification to a previously awarded contract (N00024-11-C-4407) for USS Wasp (LHD-1) fiscal 2017 planned maintenance availability.

A planned maintenance availability includes the planning and execution of depot-level maintenance, alterations, and modifications that will update and improve the ship’s military and technical capabilities.

Work will be performed in Norfolk, VA, and is expected to be completed by May 2017. Fiscal 2017 operations and maintenance (Navy); and other procurement (Navy) funding in the amount of $55,766,162 will be obligated at time of award and $55,285,426 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year.

The Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center, Norfolk, VA, is the administrative contracting activity.
