AMPOL to store and maintain NRC emergency response equipment

MAY 30, 2012 — Oil spill response and total environmental solutions provider American Pollution Control Corp. (AMPOL) has been selected by the National Response Corporation (NRC) to store and maintain a large stock of NRC emergency response equipment.

Previously owned by Seacor Marine, NRC was purchased by an investment group and needed to relocate its equipment. NRC chose to house the equipment in AMPOL’s New Iberia, La., facility, increasing AMPOL’s emergency response equipment inventory to one of the largest stored in the South and maintained by a privately held company.

Equipment stored and maintained by AMPOL includes portable barges, skimmers, boom, boom rollers, anchors, hoses and a fire boom.

“Having this additional inventory of emergency response equipment on-site and ready to use increases AMPOL’s total response resources,” said AMPOL President and CEO Kirk Headley. “Our recent facility expansion and other upgrades have allowed us to acquire and store additional equipment to be ready at a moment’s notice if a need arises.”

As a total environmental solutions provider AMPOL focuses on restoration, going beyond response and cleanup. AMPOL employs nearly 200 employees and offers oil spill response, tank cleaning, confined space entry services, naturally occurring radioactive material (N.O.R.M.) treatment and storage, lead and asbestos abatement services, insulation services, hazardous material (HAZ-MAT) emergency cleanup, soil remediation, demolition services, marine transportation and spill equipment manufacturing.
