USCG awards LRIT contract to Pole Star

JANUARY 8, 2016 — London headquartered Pole Star Space Applications says that it been awarded a U.S. Coast Guard for the provision of LRIT ASP (Long-Range Identification & Tracking Authorized Service Provider) services.

Privately held Pole Star currently provides LRIT services to 47 maritime administrations, including four of the five largest fleets in the IMO LRIT network – those of Panama, Singapore, Liberia, and the Marshall Islands.

In securing this latest contract, Pole Star has added the U.S. Coast Guard to those of Australia, Canada and others that form the backbone of international LRIT data users network.

“We are very honored to have been awarded this contract from the U.S. Coast Guard to provide LRIT ASP services in support of the United States’ National Maritime Domain Awareness Plan and wider National Strategy for Maritime Security program,” said Julian Longson, Managing Director at Pole Star.
