Kvichak to build 66 ft shallow draft tender

NOVEMBER 19, 2013 — Kvichak Marine Industries, Inc., Seattle, WA, has been awarded a contract by Norton Sound Economic Development Corporation (NSEDC) to build an all-aluminum 66 ft Shallow Draft Tender to be used for multiple fisheries in and around Norton Sound, AK.

Designed by Kvichak Marine, the 66 ft x 25 fttender will be powered by twin Cummins QSM11 marine diesel engines rated for 450 BHP at 2,100 RPM. The engines are coupled to ZF 360 transmissions that drive NiBrAl 4-blade propellers. Other equipment will include Northern Lights 99 kW and 40 kW gensets and a Transvac 3510 fish pump system

The vessel will have two two-man state rooms and a full galley.
