Matt Binsfeld, president and CEO of La Crosse, Wis., headquartered J.F. Brennan Company, Inc. was named the 2019 Dredger of the Year on June 6th at the 2019 WEDA Dredging Summit and Expo in Chicago, Ill.

The award recognizes one individual annually for extensive and outstanding contributions to the dredging community.

Over 550 members strong, WEDA is a non-profit technical organization devoted to the exchange of knowledge in the dredging, navigation, marine engineering, and construction industries. Governed by 17 board of directors, WEDA covers seven regions throughout North, Central, and South America. Brennan is a long-standing committed member of WEDA, with multiple employees involved with the organization.

“I am truly honored to receive this award,” said Binsfeld. “The Western Dredging Association is an important group for the advancement of the dredge industry in the United States, North and South America. To be recognized amongst your peers is always nice, however, I find it more so an opportunity for reflection. I have been truly blessed to have some wonderful mentors in my career, the only way I can repay them, is to pay it forward. Most of all I want everyone to know that this is an award for all of Brennan. There is not a day that goes by where I don’t think about how lucky and fortunate I am to work with so many awesome and dedicated people. Our work has great purpose and we are making a positive impact in this country because of our great team and high-quality work.”
