VT Halter books PSV order

VT Halter Marine Inc. has secured a new contract for the design and construction of two Platform Supply Vessels (PSV) for L&M Botruc Rental Inc.

The contract is valued at between $45-$55 million. Physical construction is scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2008 with deliveries of the two vessels scheduled in 2010.

Measuring 230 ft x 56 ft x 18 ft, each vessel will be equipped with a DP2 system.

L&M Botruc Rental Inc operates one of the largest fleets of offshore marine transportation vessels in the Gulf. It is one of the largest privately held supply boat companies and the sixth largest boat company on the Gulf Coast.

"When we chose VT Halter Marine to build our next two additions to our fleet we knew we were choosing a shipyard that we were going to have a good working relationship with and at the same time was going to put out a good quality product," commented Tony Cheramie, President, L&M Botruc Rental. "VT Halter Marine has been building workboats for a very long time and we currently have many 'Halter' hulls in our fleet that we have been operating for years. Because of this we knew what we were getting with VT Halter Marine and our confidence in them has always been very strong."
