Baltimore Water Taxi captain "saddened"

Frank Deppner, captain of the water taxi pontoon boat that capsized in Baltimore on Saturday, has issued a statement saying:""I and everyone at the Seaport Taxi organization are deeply saddened by the tragedy that occurred yesterday afternoon aboard the Seaport Taxi 'Lady D.' While I've been requested by the National Transportation Safety Board not to comment on the specifics of the event, I would like to extend my sincere concern and condolences to the passengers and families affected by yesterday's accident."

Deppner is a retired U.S. Army Major and a Vietnam Veteran. A defense industry consultant, he received a U.S. Coast Guard Captain's License in April 2002 and has been a Captain for Seaport Taxi since July 2002.
