More OSV orders for Aker

Aker Yards has won more OSV orders.

Aker Promar, in Brazil, a part of Aker Brattvaag AS, has been awarded a contract worth approximately NOK 280 million (about US $45 million) by NorSkan Offshore Ltda., Brazil, to build an Anchor Handling Tug Supply (AHTS) vessel .

Delivery from Aker Promar, is scheduled for June 2006. The vessel will be 80 meters long, and 18 meters wide.

NorSkan Offshore is an offshore supply vessel company owned by Solstad Offshore ASA and DOF ASA in Norway on a 50/50 basis, and is focusing on the strong Brazilian offshore vessel market.

The vessel will be a UT 722 L, designed by Rolls-Royce, which will be a major supplier of equipment to the project.

Roy Reite, responsible for the Offshore Service Vessels business area in Aker Yards ASA states in a comment: "This contract confirms the good relationship we have with both DOF ASA and Solstad Offshore ASA. We are proud that they are coming back to Aker Yards to build this third vessel at Aker Promar".

Broker for the contract is Nor-Ocean Shipping in Oslo.

Separately, DOF ASA has placed an order with Aker Brattvaag worth approximately NOK 200 million (about $32 million) for a platform supply vessel of the MT 6000 type.

Delivery from Soeviknes Verft is scheduled for January 2006. The vessel will be 86 meters long, and 20 meters wide, and will have accomodations for 24 persons.

DOF has a similar vessel under construction at Soeviknes Verft for delivery in June 2005, and also a vessel of the MT 6009 design under construction at Brattvaag Skipsverft for delivery in October 2005.
