Eastern Shipbuilding Group delivers Falcon for Fisher Island community

Eastern Shipbuilding Group Inc. announced the successful delivery of the vehicle-passenger ferry Falcon to the Fisher Island Community Association.

Panama City, Fla.-based Eastern Shipbuilding Group Inc. announced the successful delivery of the vehicle-passenger ferry Falcon to the Fisher Island Community Association (FICA) in Florida. The Falcon will provide reliable and modern transportation service to the Fisher Island community.

The Falcon successfully completed trials prior to delivery and has entered service supporting daily operations between Fisher Island and Miami. Measuring 152 feet long and with a beam of 52 feet, the 1,200 bhp Falcon has a capacity for 30 cars and 150 passengers.

Designed to provide reliable transportation between Fisher Island and mainland Miami, the Falcon was constructed at ESG’s Allanton facility and represents the latest addition to the Fisher Island ferry fleet. The vessel was built to meet the specific operational needs of the community while incorporating modern systems, enhanced passenger accommodations, and efficient vehicle transportation capabilities.

The delivery marks another milestone in ESG’s 50th year of shipbuilding excellence and reflects the company’s continued commitment to delivering high-quality, purpose-built vessels that serve communities across the United States.
