Layoffs ahead at Newport News Shipbuilding

JULY 24, 2015 — As work on three major aircraft carrier projects winds down, Huntington Ingalls Industries Newport News Shipbuilding division has warned workers that layoffs are ahead for both hourly paid and salaried employees.
More than 500 jobs will go this year and another 1,500 plus in 2016.
