FEBRUARY 17, 2015 — Norway's Eidesvik Offshore today took delivery of the subsea construction vessel Viking Neptune and has drawn a long-term loan facility of $124 million with Nordea and Eksportkreditt Norway/GIEK to finance the vessel which is scheduled to start work on a contract with Technip in March.
Designed by Salt Ship Design, the 145 m x 31 m ship is the largest vessel thus far delivered by shipbuilder Kleven Verft's Eidesvik shipyard.
Equipped with a 400 t offshore crane and a 100 t offshore crane, the vessel can handle heavy underwater installations. The vessel also has a carousel with a capacity for 4,400 tons of flexible pipes, a 2,600 sq.m cargo deck and accomodations for 150 people. also indicates the size of the vessel.
Viking Neptune has been built to ice class ICE 1B, allowing it to operate in arctic waters.
