AUGUST 13, 2014 — Hornblower Cruises & Events, San Francisco, CA, has hired Scott Keever as Manager, Special Events. Mr. Keever comes to Hornblower with seven years of maritime experience at Chevron Shipping
After graduating from the California Maritime Academy with a Bachelor’s degree in Marine Transportation, Mr. Keever began a sea-going career with Chevron Shipping where he held various at-sea positions until July of this year when he joined Hornblower Cruises & Events.
In his new position, Mr. Keever will work on a number of special projects ranging from feasibility studies, energy and cost savings, risk management, regulatory concerns, procurement projects, business process improvement, SAFECRUISE efforts and Respect our Planet Programs.
Hornblower Cruises & Events has been a leading charter yacht and public dining cruise for over 33 years. The company operates 32 vessels, including the three largest dining yachts on the West Coast, in Marina del Rey, San Francisco, Berkeley, Sacramento, Long Beach, Newport Beach and San Diego, and New York City.
Two Hornblower subsidiary businesses, Alcatraz Cruises and Statue Cruises, are National Park Service ferry concession holders, for Alcatraz Island and the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, respectively.
Hornblower began operating a third subsidiary, Hornblower Niagara Cruises, from Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada this year.
