NOVEMBER 19, 2013 — Scorpio Bulkers Inc. (OSLO-OTC: SALT) continues on its buying binge, with the scene of its latest splurge being Romania.

The company announced yesterday that it has reached an agreement with Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering Co., Ltd.) to construct three Capesize dry bulk vessels of 180,000 dwt at its Daewoo Mangalia Heavy Industries S.A. subsidiary (which happens to be the shipyard where the giant gantry crane from General Dynamics Quincy yard wound up).

Two of the newbuilds are scheduled to deliver in fourth quarter 2015 and the third in first quarter 2016.

The total purchase price for the vessels is around $162 million
