C-Retriever two released by pirates

NOVEMBER 12, 2013 — At today's State Department daily press briefing in Washington, D.C., spokesperson Jen Psaki confirmed the release of the Captain and Chief Engineer kidnapped by pirates from the Edison Chouest-owned, U.S.-flagged platform supply vessel C-Retriever in the Gulf of Guinea on October 23.

Asked about a report that they were released over the weekend and were on their way home, Ms. Psaki said: "We welcome the release of the two U.S. citizens who were kidnapped from the Retriever. For privacy reasons, we will not provide any additional information on the two individuals or the circumstances of their release. But I can confirm their release."
