Singapore-headquartered Thome Ship Management reports that Carsten Brix Ostenfeldt has been appointed Managing Director with immediate effect. He replaces Bjorn Hojgaard who has resigned from the group to pursue other interests.
Mr. Ostenfeldt becomes Managing Director of Thome Ship Management after serving as the company's Technical Director for the last two years.
Olav Eek Thorstensen, Thome Group Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, said today: "I am very pleased to announce that we have appointed Carsten Brix Ostenfeldt as our new Managing Director.
"Carsten has served our ship management company with distinction for the last two years as technical director and I have no doubt he will tackle his new role with the kind of ability and leadership he has already so clearly demonstrated in this time with the company.
"I am delighted that Thome Ship Management has a talented and able senior management team from which Carsten has been selected and it is pleasing that we have been able to make this key appointment from within the organization as it demonstrates continuity and a 'steady hand on the wheel.'
"I am sure all our principals will be pleased to note that we have appointed Carsten as Managing Director as he is already well known to many of them and I believe his appointment will be welcomed by our business partners, our staff and everyone connected to Thome Ship Management."
Mr Thorstensen thanked Bjorn Hojgaard for his time at Thome Ship Management and said his decision to leave the group was "sad but understandable".
"Bjorn leaves us with best wishes and I would like to place on record my personal thanks to him for his service to Thome Ship Management during a time of significant advancement and change. He has led the company with determination and vision. I am sure everyone at Thome wishes him well for his future." Thome Ship Management's other Directors and senior management team remains in place. Olav Eek Thorstensen continues as Chairman and group Chief Executive of Thome Group and Claes Eek Thorstensen remains as President of Thome Group.
