Beacon Finland signs service deal with Rio Marine

FEBRUARY 23, 2016—Beacon Finland, Rauma, Finland, recently appointed Rio Marine, Inc., Houston, TX, as its exclusive company to service its JAK-ATB coupling systems in the U.S.

The JAK ATB coupling system is a pneumatically actuated, electrically controlled Articulated Tug Barge (ATB) connecting system. The coupling action is controlled from a control panel on the vessel's bridge or from the local control panel in the coupler unit compartment.

Beacon Finland Chairman Tuija Horkko said that the company was very pleased to welcome Rio Marine as its exclusive company to provide 24/7/365 service for its JAK coupling systems for the tug/barge industry.

Rio Marine President Ronald Dansby said the company was "very enthusiastic concerning its new relationship with Beacon Finland to support and service JAK-ATB coupling systems across the U.S. Gulf and East Coasts."

Rio Marine will maintain an extensive inventory of JAK spare parts and will provide service that will nlcude electrical, electronics, hydraulic, and mechanical systems. Dansby also said the company was opening a new service center in Staten Island, NY, to support tugs abd barges abd JAK systems along the U.S. East Coast.
