According to a stock exchange announcement, Austal has secured a contract for the supply of a 41 m aluminum passenger ferry to be built at its Henderson, Western Australia, shipyard for delivery in the second quarter of 2012.CEO Andrew Bellamy says the timing of the order is favorable as it allows the company to retain core capabilities and experienced staff at the yard as the company moves forward with a strategy of refocusing it on the defense market.
