MOL holds naming ceremony for VLOC

MOL namingFEBRUARY 28, 2013 — Vale International SA Director, Shipping & Distribution, Gurinder Singh (left in picture) has performed the naming ceremony for the latest addition to the Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL) bulker fleet, the 297,000 dwt iron ore carrier Ore Salvador.

Built at shipbuilder Japan Marine United Corporation's Ariake Shipyard, the 327 m x 55 m Liberian-flagged ship will be operated by MOL transporting ore from Vale S.A. of Brazil.

As the world's leading operator of Capesize bulk carriers, MOL operates a total of seven very large ore carriers (VLOCs) in the 300,000 DWT class.
