ST Marine to build seismic vessel for Swire Pacific Offshore

Singapore Technologies Marine Ltd (ST Marine), has secured a S$30 million (US$19.8 million) contract to provide detailed design, construction and outfitting of a 68 m x 15 m seismic survey vessel for Swire Pacific Offshore Operations (Pte) Ltd (SPO), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Swire Pacific Limited.

SPO has done extensive planning for this newbuild and will provide the basic design and major equipment, including the seismic survey equipment.

Construction is expected to commence in May 2009 and delivery is planned for the second half of 2010.

The vessel will have a hullform designed to produce low wake field turbulence. It will have two medium speed diesels, each delivering 2,880 kW, and will be designed and built Class +A1, +AMS, ACCU, SPS, E, Ice Class Notation C
