![]() August 11, 2008 Meyer Werft undocks Celebrity SolsticeMeyer Werft has undocked the largest cruise ship thus far built in Germany, the 122,000 gt Celebrity Solstice. The ship left yard's covered building dock at about 10 am, Sunday. With a length overall of 315 m and a breadth of 36.8 m, the ship--the first in a series of five--will accommodate 2,850 passengers in 1,425 cabins. More than 90% of all cabins are outside cabins, 90% of which have their own balconies. The ship is now berthed at the pier at Meyer Werft for the final outfitting, tests and trials and the interior work. It is scheduled to leave Papenburg for its river Ems passage to the sea trials port in Eemshaven (Netherlands) on September 27. |
