May 7, 2007 $1.28 billion containership order Samsung Heavy Industries Co. (KSE:010140) today issued a disclosure saying it has received a $1.28 billion order to build "eight oversized containerships" for a "ship buyer in Europe." The vessels will be delivered by 2011, the company said in a regulatory filing. It is understood the order is for eight 12,600 TEU containerships and has been placed by Germany's Peter Doehle.
