June 29, 2007 Hornblower wins Liberty Island franchise The National Parks Service has selected Hornblower Yachts, Inc. to provide ferry service to the Statue of Liberty, replacing Circle Line-Statue of Liberty Ferry Inc. As part of the 10-year contract, Hornblower is required to buy Circle Line-Statue of Liberty Ferry Inc.'s seven boat fleet. The contract will be signed and awarded after a 60-day Congressional review period and Hornblower could begin operations as early as October.
