August 27, 2007 Samsung wins $1.34 billion containership order Korean shipbuilder Samsung Heavy Industries Co. said Monday (Aug. 27) it received a contract worth 1.26 trillion won ($1.34 billion) to build eight container carriers for what it identifies only as "a European company." The vessels are scheduled to be delivered by September 2012, Samsung Heavy said in a regulatory filing.
