August 22, 2007 Joe Angelo named INTERTANKO Deputy MD Joe Angelo has been appointed Deputy Managing Director of INTERTANKO with immediate effect. He will assist the Managing Director Dr. Peter Swift with carrying out the duties and responsibilities of the AssociationÕs top secretariat job. Mr. Angelo has been with INTERTANKO since January 2005 when he joined the association from the United States Coast Guard where he was Director of Standards for Marine Safety, Security and Environmental Protection. He is based in Washington DC as Intertanko's Director Š Americas and Regulatory Affairs. INTERTANKO notes that "his knowledge, both general and technical, on a broad sweep of issues, and his insights into the regulatory processes in the U.S and at the IMO, have been a huge asset to INTERTANKO and its members, and will add value to the leadership of the Association."
