November 17, 2006 Island Offshore back at Aker
Aker Yards has signed a contract with Island Offshore in Ulsteinvik, Norway to deliver one UT 776 CD Platform supply vessel. This is the twenty-third contract between Island Offshore--in which Edison Chouest Offshore is a partner--and Aker Yards. The 93 m x 20 m vessel will have deadweight of 4,000 tons The total value of the contract is approximately NOK 315 million (about $49 million}. Delivery of the vessel is scheduled for July 2009. The hull for the vessel will be built in Romania and it will be outfitted at Aker Yards, Brevik.
