February 22, 2006 AHTS orders for Fincantieri
Italy's Rimorchiatori Riuniti has placed an order with Fincantieri for the construction of two multipurpose AHTS vessels. They will be built at Fincantieri's Riva Trigoso (Genoa) and Muggiano (La Spezia) yards for delivery in December 2007. The vessels are of Moss Maritime design with a length of 75.65 m. a molded breadth of 16.90 m. and a deadweight of 3,000 tonnes. Four diesels with a total output of 15,.800 bhp will give a speed of 16.5 knots and bollard pull of 180 t. The vessels will be FiFi II and DP 1 equipped.
