February 20, 2006 Aker Yards adds to PSV orders
Norway's Aker Yards has signed a contract with Island Offshore VIII KS, a company within the Island Offshore Group in Ulsteinvik, Norway, to deliver a UT 755 LN platform supply vessel. The value of the contract is approximately NOK 150 million (about $22 million). This is the 17th contract between Island Offshore, in which Edison Chouest Offshore is a partner, and Aker Yards. The hull for the platform supply vessel will be built in Romania and the vessel will be outfitted in Brevik, Norway. The 3,200 dwt Rolls Royce Marine designed vessel will have a length of 74 m and width of 16 m.
