December 14, 2006 Austal mystery buyer ups order
Last month, Australia's Austal ships announced that an undisclosed buyer had ordered "multiple aluminum hulled passenger ferries" for a total of Australian $140 million (about US$108 million). In a stock exchange announcement today, Austal says that the buyer has exercised options to the order, adding further vessels worth Australian $60 (about US$47 million) to the order. The additional vessels are slated for delivery in 2008.
