Kleven adds to OSV orders
Norway's Kleven Maritime has added two more offshore vessels to its order book.
Troms Offshore has placed its first order with Kleven Verft in Ulsteinvik, while long time customer Rem Offshore is back for its tenth vessel from the yard.
The Troms Offshore order is for a Multifunctional Platform Supply Vessel (MPSV) of the VS 495 DEM CD Mk II design by Vik Sandvik. The contract value is NOK 355 million ($58.2 million).
The vessel is 95.3 m long, with a beam of 21.0 m, and features large cargo capacity below deck, a working deck of 1,030 sq. m and accommodations for 60 persons.
The vessel is to be delivered in the fourth quarter of 2009 as the yards newbuilding number 339.
"VS 495 DEM CD Mk II is characterized by a unique and environmental friendly propulsion system, and features Clean Design class notation. This was decisive in our choice of vessel," commented Troms Offshore VP Oesten Mortvedtt.
The Rem Offshore order is for a Multi Purpose Support Vessel (MPSV) of the MT 6016 Mk III design by MarinTeknikk.
The contract value is NOK 305 million ($50 million).
The vessel is 93.96 m long, with a beam of 19.70 m, includes large cargo capacity below deck, and a working deck of 1,000 sq.m.
The vessel is due for delivery in the first quarter of 2009.
"The MT6016 design has proven itself as a flexible design, and may easily be modified to suit other purposes than mere supply. On this vessel we will maintain full supply capacity below deck," states Rem Offshore's owner Age Remoy.
