Rem orders OSV's at Kleven
Norway's Kleven Verft in Ulsteinvik has signed a new contract with Rem Maritime of Fosnavag, Norway, for the building of two new, sophisticated offshore vessels.
Both are Multi Purpose Subsea Operation Support Vessels of a new MT 6022 design by Marin Teknikk of Tjorvag, Norway, developed in close cooperation with the owner and the shipyard.
"MT6022 is a new and flexible design, and may be adjusted to suit future market demand. Compared to the vessels we have on order, we are stepping up in size of vessels. The increased size allows for larger crane capacity and increased crewing, as well as increased loading capacity," says Rem Maritime's owner, Age Remoy.
The total contract value is NOK 800 million--about US$ 126.25 million.
The vessels are 107.6 m. long, with a beam of 22 m, accommodations for 120 crew and a working deck of 1,120 sq. m.
The vessels are scheduled to be delivered in February and May 2008.
