Recent Navy contracts

Norfolk Shipbuilding & Drydock Corp. (NORSHIPCO), Norfolk, Va., is being awarded an $11,050,533 firm-fixed-price contract for ship repair overhaul and drydock to support USNS Humphreys, a fleet replenishment oiler. This contract contains options, which if exercised, would bring the total cumulative value of the contract to $13,268,967. Work will be performed in Norfolk, Va., and is expected to be completed by June 2005. Contract funds will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured with seven proposals solicited and three offers received. The U.S. Navy's Sealift Logistics Command Atlantic, Virginia Beach, Va., is the contracting authority (N62381-05-C-2021).

Bath Iron Works (a unit of General Dynamics), Bath, Maine, is being awarded a $562,141,766 modification to previously awarded contract (N00024-02-C-2303) to provide funding for the FY05 multiyear ship (DDG 112). The contract provides for the construction of DDG 51 Class AEGIS Destroyers and associated provisioning technical documentation, technical manuals and associated technical data. The contract also provides for associated supplies and services which consist of: post delivery availability; special studies; on-board spares and repair parts; equipage, special tools, support and test equipment; production support and industrial services; installation and check-out spares; detail design correction; shore based spares; messing and berthing for pre-commissioning crews; continuous acquisition & life cycle support; class crew indoctrination and orientation program; and associated data. Work will be performed in Bath, Maine, and is expected to be completed by December 2010. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity.

Electric Boat, Eastern Point Road, Groton, Conn., is being awarded an $8,000,000 modification to a previously awarded contract (N00140-02-C-K009) for a wide spectrum of intermediate and depot-level overhaul, repair, and modernization services to the Naval Submarine Support Facility, (NSSF) New London, Groton, Conn., to accomplish maintenance, modernization, and repairs in support of operational nuclear powered submarines, floating dry-docks, support and service craft, and any other entity needing NSSF support. Work will be performed in Groton, Conn., and is expected to be completed March 2005. Contract funds will not expire by the end of current fiscal year. The Fleet Industrial Supply Center, Norfolk Detachment, Philadelphia, Pa., is the contracting activity (Mod P00026).
