Manitowoc's Toledo files layoff notification

Manitowoc Marine's Toledo Ship Repair Co. unit has filed a WARN notification with the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services.

The WARN (Worker Adjustment Retarining Notification) act requires employers to provide notification 60 calendar days in advance of plant closings and mass layoffs.

The filing by Toledo Ship Repair says 86 workers will be laid off, starting November 15, 2005.

Earlier reports said that Toledo employees and managers had been told that operations at the facility would end October 31, 2005
