Navy contract for Detyens

Detyens Shipyard, Inc., Charleston, S.C., is being awarded a $5,492,786 firm-fixed-price contract for ship repair overhaul and drydock to support the USNS Supply.

The contract includes options that, if exercised, would bring the cumulative value of the contract to $6,610,156.

Work will be performed in Charleston, S.C., and is expected to be completed by January 2006.

Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.

The contract was competitively procured with six proposals solicited and three offers received. The U.S. Navy's Sealift Logistics Command, Atlantic, Virginia Beach, Va., is the contracting authority (N62381-05-C-2023)
