$17 million Navy contract for Earl Industries

Earl Industries, LLC, Portsmouth, Va., is being awarded a $17,032,477 fixed-price contract for the Planned Incremental Availability of the USS Truman (CVN-75). Work will include miscellaneous mechanical and structural repairs, preservation and ship alterations. Work will be performed in Portsmouth, Va., and is expected to be completed by November 2006. Contract funds in the amount of $17,032,477 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured via the Internet, with 12 proposals solicited and one offer received.
