ACB delivers for Alaska
Aluminum Chambered Boats (ACB), Inc. Bellingham, Washington recently delivered a 36 ft x 10 ft 5 in, 25-passenger, Eco-Tour Landing Craft to Alaska Galore Tours in Juneau, Alaska.
This vessel is designed for passenger comfort with fold-in "safari" windows, a hydrophone, silent cabin heaters, a full stand up head, and two viewing decks.
In the spacious 17 ft 5 in cabin, passengers will cruise from Juneau to the Tlingit village of Hoonah, located on Chichagof Island where wildlife includes humpback and killer whales, sea lions, and porpoises.
Following the whale watching tour, customers easily disembark via a 72 inch hydraulic bow ramp at Chichagof Island, one of the most beautiful beaches in Alaska, where a naturalist and bear guide will lead them through the Tongass National Forest in a search of brown bear and Sitka blacktail deer.
"This is the second ACB I have purchased for business use," comments Louis Juergens, partner in Alaska Galore Tours. "With a fairly short tourist season and unpredictable weather, I need vessels that will perform in all weather conditions. My ACB's give customers a sense of safety and security in harsh conditions, while allowing me to continue to operate my business during inclement weather, thereby maximizing the business' full potential."
Powered by twin 350 HP Yamahas, the vessel's top speed is 47 mph while it cruises most efficiently at 30 mph.
