January 12, 2010 EPA accredits Krystallon scrubber as "emerging technology"Hamworthy Krystallon Ltd. has become the first non North American-based company to be awarded accreditation as a manufacturer of an "emerging technology" that has the capability to reduce marine Particulate Matter emissions by the United States' Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The company's PM seawater scrubber technology was granted an Emerging Technology Acceptance Letter in December and placed on the National Clean Diesel Campaign emerging technology list. The acceptance is initially valid for one year and is for application in marine vessels with diesel engines and a combined total power not to exceed 2,500 horsepower Sigurd S.
