Fatal explosion at VT Halter Marine

WLOX TV reports that police and emergency crews confirmed two dead after an explosion in a tugboat under construction at VT Halter Marine's Escatawpa shipyard late Friday afternoon.

"They were cleaning a tank, preparing it to be painted," said VT Halter Marine CEO William Skinner.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
