NTSB releases Cosco Busan and Axel Spirit reports

The National Transportation Safety Board has published two final marine accident reports on its website:

On November 7, 2007, the containership Cosco Busan struck the fendering system at the base of a support tower of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge. The resulting release of bunker oil caused considerable environmental damage. On November 3, 2007, the Bahamas-registered tankship Axel Spirit struck the Ambrose Light at the entrance of the New York Harbor. The light tower was damaged beyond repair. The final report may be accessed at:http://www.ntsb.gov/publictn/2009/MAR0902.pdf
