Casino cruise operator files for Chapter 11
According to a report in the Orlando Sentinel, Las Vegas Casino Lines, which operates out of Port Canaveral, Fla., has filed a petition to reorganize under Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
The Sentinel story says unsecured creditors include North Florida Shipyard, with a $1.18 million disputed debt related to ship renovations and Canaveral Port Authority with a disputed debt of $800,000.
The cruise line's single ship, the 1985 built St Vincent and the Grenadines registered Liquid Vegas, is billed on its website as "is the newest and fastest casino ship in Port Canaveral." Its top speed is a blistering 16 knots.
