Vintage ferries tie up at Craig's List
Canadian marine brokerage Harlow Marine of Langley, B.C. has put a couple of vintage ferries up for sale on Craig's List--an on-line classified site that's lately been notorious for advertising of a rather different kind.
Be that as it may, Harlow Marine obviously thinks it's as good a place as any to try to sell a couple of 155 ft double-ended 26 car/150 passenger ferries that were built by Vancouver Shipyard in 1972.
The asking price is Canadian $1.1 million each.
According to local media reports, the two vessels are those currently operating the Albion Ferry service in metro Vancouver across the Fraser River. The service is slated to end July 31 following the opening of the Golden Ears Bridge between Langley on the south side and Maple Ridge on the north side.
