Winter to soldier on

Secretary of the Navy Donald C. Winter has agreed to a request by Secretary of Defense Robert Gates that he remain in his position when the Obama Administration takes office. Winter had intended to step down at that time. Now, though, he has agreed to stay until mid-March, unless President Barack Obama replaces him sooner, the Virginian-Pilot reports.
