Geiger to be BIW president

John "Dugan" Shipway is stepping down as president of General Dynamics Bath Iron Works after five years at the shipbuilder's helm, reports website mainebiz.biz

Shipway, 65, a former rear admiral in the U.S. Navy, will hand the reins to Jeff Geiger, currently senior vice president of operations at BIW, when his resignation becomes effective April 1.

Geiger, 47, arrived at BIW in 1984, fresh from the University of Michigan, where he graduated with a master's degree in engineering and naval architecture, notes Mainebiz
