MAN Diesel makes Washington appointment
MAN Diesel North America has appointed Philip Wasinger as Director-- Government Relations and Business Development.
In his new capacity, Wasinger is responsible for government relations and strategic business development initiatives in North America for the full line of MAN Diesel engines, turbochargers, and MAN Diesel PrimeServ products and services.
His focus on government relations will be to further the awareness of legislators and government authorities of MAN Diesel's strong commitment to the American market. Business development activities will concentrate on supporting the company's business plan objectives in the government marine and power-generation market sectors.
Wasinger will be based in Washington, D.C. where he will head up a new representation office which will be opened soon to further serve MAN Diesel's customers and business partners located in the area.
Wasinger has 35 years of sales, marketing, operational and government relations experience in the diesel engine industry.
Prior to joining MAN he was with MTU Detroit Diesel and its processor company, MTU North America, for twenty-eight years where he served for the past eleven years as the director of its Washington, D.C. office. During this time he was responsible for winning several major contracts to supply engines and propulsion equipment to U.S. Navy and Coast Guard ship and patrol-boat building programs. Prior to joining MTU, Wasinger held positions in the Caterpillar organization and served in the United States Navy.
